Eileen Catherine (Hoelting) Buescher, 100, Lawrence, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Heritage at College View, Hastings, Nebraska. Rosary will be Tuesday, December 3, 2024, 10:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, December 3, 2024, 11:00 a.m. both at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Lawrence, Nebraska with Father Denton Morris officiating. Burial will be in St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 2, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Lawrence Visitation Chapel, Lawrence, Nebraska. Memorials may be directed to St. Stephen Cemetery. The service will be live-streamed on Merten-Butler Mortuary's website. Eileen was born on January 14, 1924 to William and Dora Hoelting on a farm four miles southeast of Lawrence, Nebraska. Eileen walked to St. Stephen school until the eighth grade, then started working in Hastings, Nebraska. She married Edgar Buescher on April 20, 1944 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. They were married 71 years and lived on a farm six miles south of Lawrence, where they raised their six children.
Eileen was a devout catholic, member of St. Stephen Altar Society and Gold Star Sisters. She loved to visit, play cards, embroidery, make quilts and ceramics. In later years she and Edgar loved to travel. Our mother was a very loving, hardworking, patient, warm and good-natured person. Above all, she loved her family.
Eileen is survived by four sons, Walter Buescher, Hastings, Nebraska, Michael (Frances) Buescher, Lawrence, Nebraska, Gary (Sheryl) Buescher, Lawrence, Nebraska, Leland (Jolene) Buescher, Glenvil, Nebraska; two daughters, Mary Ann Fulton, Lincoln, Nebraska, Jane (Michael) Streff, Lincoln, Nebraska; one brother, Leonard Hoelting; one sister, Marie Choquette; twenty one grandchildren and nineteen spouses; sixty four great grandchildren and six spouses; ten great-great grandchildren; extensive group of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edgar; daughter-in-law, Deanna Buescher; brothers, Daniel, LeRoy, Vernon, Arthur, Francis, Richard, Eldon and Victor; sister Eva Krebsbach.
