Elaine M. (Ducharme) Rachupka, 84, of Newport, Rhode Island and formerly of Westminster, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Newport Hospital, Newport, Rhode Island.
Born in Gardner on August 25, 1941, Elaine was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Loretta L. (Bastarache) Ducharme. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1958 and went on to work at Lilly Chemicals in Gardner and then later Digital Equipment Corporation in Westminster.
Elaine was a member of the Gardner AARP and the Gardner Golden Age Club, and a devoted parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Westminster, where she was active in the Women's Guild. She was an avid 10 pin and candlepin bowler and found joy in tending to her perennial garden. Elaine and her husband also travelled the world with many trips to Europe and in the United States. Above all, Elaine cherished the time she spent surrounded by her loving family.
Elaine is survived by a son, Craig J. Rachupka and his wife Cheryl of Tiverton, RI; a sister, Diane Pellett of Gardner; two grandchildren, Brooke and Aubrey Rachupka, both of Tiverton, RI; she is also survived by her nieces Karen Charland, Lynn Wilson and Tina Bettez.
Beside for her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her husband Edmund Rachupka who died in 2024; a son, Dean P. Rachupka, who died in 1999; and a brother, Donald Ducharme who died in 2021.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Boucher Funeral Home Inc. 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA 01440. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church Street, Westminster, MA.
Burial to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ellis Road, Westminster, MA.
