Eldon Joseph "Buck" Delaune, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the age of 89. He was a retired owner and operator of West Side Pools; resident of Port Allen and native of Marrero, LA. Eldon was a US Army Veteran having served for six years. Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 10am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm, with a rosary to be recited at 10:30am, celebrated by Father Arun John. Entombment of his ashes will be held at a later date. Eldon is survived by his wife of 69 years, Josephine "Josie" Lorena Delaune; daughter, Sharon Delaune Mura and husband Steve; sons, Gerald Delaune and wife Velvet, and Eldon Delaune, III; grandchildren, Michael Mura and wife Mandy, Matthew Mura, Brian Delaune, Courtney Delaune Elder and husband Will; great-grandchildren, Rosemary and Chloe Mura, Chance Toups, Annabelle Mura, Sydnee Hodges, Kameran Delaune, Laiken Elder; sisters, Mary Ann Hebert, and Loretta LeFort; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Eldon, Sr. and Lena Blanda Delaune; sister, Alice Mae Loupe; and brother, Raymond Delaune. Eldon was a member of the Third Order of Lay Carmalites, a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly and was a Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Conception Marrero. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly.
