Elena was born in San Francisco, CA to parents Miguel L. and Pacing E. Luna. She was the youngest of three with older brother Manuel and Carlos. All have preceded Elena in passing.
She was a 1955 graduate of Lowell High School in San Francisco.
Elena and Willard first met at the San Jose Postal Facility where they were both employed. They relocated to the Georgetown area in 1977 and resided in Cool for the last 40 years.
Elena worked thirty years for the United Sates Postal Service retiring on her 60th birthday in 1997. Her last 20 years of Postal Service were with the Georgetown, CA post office.
Elena is survived by her husband Willard F. Schmehl, sons Martin R. Dait of Puyallup, WA, Jaime R. Dait (wife Wynter) of Tacoma, WA, and Daniel I. Dait (Wife Inna) of San Jose, CA, and grandchildren Jennifer, Kaiya, Glenburn, Elster, Elena, and Steven.
She is also survived by numerous extended family members both here and in the Philippines.
