Elgin McMeans Obituary

June 21, 1949- December 14th, 2024. Elgin Cornelius McMeans born to the late J.C. and Claudia McMeans on June 21st, 1949. Elgin was a member of the St John AME Zion Methodist Church of Georgiana AL. Elgin attended Georgiana Training School and McArthur College of Opp,AL where he studied Brick Masonry. He resided in Andalusia, AL where he worked numerous jobs but the most rewarding was Huhtamaki formerly Andalusia Box Company where he was employed over 30 years. He enjoyed golf, playing bass and lead guitar. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters Melanie and Pamela McMeans and one daughter Kenya Paraham(Ron) who preceded him in death. Three sons Elijah RL McMeans, Elgin C McMeans Jr, and Eyan M McMeans of Wing, AL. Five Grandchildren Justin and Robert Parham, Whitney Lawrence of GA. Shamiya Scroggins and Cornell Cooper of Andalusia, AL. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A wonderful companion Mrs. Betty Pugh.
Seven Sisters Grace Jackson, Montgomery, AL. Margaret Ann Stallworth(Donald Ray), Janet Simpson, Norma Jean Stackhouse(Douglas) of Georgiana, AL, Catherine Barrett, Jamila and Dorothy McMeans of NY and one brother Jerome McMeans of GA. And a Dear friend Randolph Willis.
