Elis Elit Barahona, Jr. was welcomed by his loving mother Maritza Barahona on June 28, 1991, in South El Monte California and became an angel in heaven alongside his father Elis Elit Barahona Sr. on June 27th, 2025, one day before his 34th birthday.
From a young age Elis was a go-getter. He learned to read and write at a very young age, and he was very determined to become successful. He was very passionate about embracing new challenges and wanted to contribute his expertise to organizations that valued innovation, growth, and sustainable success. He attended Snow Canyon High School in St. George, Utah in his early teens and then attended El Camino College in California where he graduated with his associates of science in business administration in June of 2016. He then attended Utah Tech University and graduated in May of 2024 with his bachelor’s degree in management while also taking care of his daughter Chanelle. His most recent goal was to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, leveraging his background to make a tangible impact in the business landscape. He wanted to collaborate on exciting new projects that drove business excellence. He had recently accepted a new position at Amazon to be an area manager. He excelled at any leadership role in which he was placed not only in his career life but his personal life as well.
Elis became a devoted and loving father on September 8, 2019, to his Princess Chanelle Ava. Elis and Chanelle’s mother, Christie Jackson always put Chanelle first. He loved her more than anything in this world. He enjoyed spending his time participating in his daughter’s extracurricular activities such as ballet, swimming lessons, attending bounce houses and spending time with his family at art festivals and taking them horseback riding and rock climbing. He would spend many hours at the McDonald’s play area while eating a cheeseburger with no cheese and doing schoolwork while he watched Chanelle yell dad “Look at me dad!” from every area of the playhouse. And more often than not he would be alongside Chanelle wherever she was from parks to pools to McDonald’s playgrounds to holidays and events big or small it didn't matter as long as he was next to his princess Chanelle, she was his world. Even on his most exhausting days, he always made time for his family. He never missed an opportunity to create new memories. There is no way to put into words how much he adored and loved her and his family.
As a son Elis was such a sweet mama’s boy, he was always looking out for his mother and the wellbeing of his family including his baby sister Nathalie. He had a very big heart and was very stoic and handled any obstacles with quiet strength, never letting it show. He was described by his loved ones as thoughtful and caring in the most beautiful and genuine way. No matter the situation he was always incredibly patient and listened with empathy and an open mind. He was a very modest, funny, charismatic individual who was always eager to learn something new.
The Barahona family extends their heartfelt gratitude for all the outpouring of love and support and condolences during this difficult time. We humbly ask for your prayers for our family during this challenging time. We know that the strength of prayer can bring peace and healing to our hearts. Please join us in celebrating and remembering the life of Elis Elit Barahona Jr. May his soul find eternal peace.
