Elizabeth Zele Budd, age 98, died peacefully in her sleep on August 9, 2025 in her home in Centennial, Colorado.
Elizabeth was a graduate of the University of Denver with a Masters in Statistics. One of her many accomplishments was finding a mistake on the statistics CLEP test while sitting for the exam. Elizabeth moved to Denver at age 21 where she married John Budd. She worked at the University of Colorado as a management analyst. She created the first computerized billing system for any hospital in Colorado. After retirement, she worked full time in her Real Estate Company, providing housing for the poor and less fortunate. Elizabeth was a cattle rancher born from a family tradition. She kept a cattle herd throughout her life her largest being 400 head.
She is survived by her two children, John Z. Budd and Mary Newstead, 4 grandchildren: Theresa Budd, Elizabeth Budd, John Budd Jr., and Marc Baroni.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Noon at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinidad, Colorado
