Elizabeth Ferguson Obituary

Elizabeth Louise Ferguson, age 81, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away Friday July 25, 2025 while being cared for at Oak Grove Health Care. Elizabeth was a native of Rutherford County, a member of West Memorial Baptist Church and a retired employee of Rutherford Hospital where she worked in environmental services for many years. Those preceding her in death include her mother Pearlie Mae Lewis and siblings Charles Lewis, J.C. Lewis, Grace Nodine, Marie Martin, Earlene Honeycutt and Juanita Thrasher.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Shane Ferguson (Sherry) and David Lewis; grandchildren Jessica Lewis, Jamie Lewis, Shayna Rushton, Hunter Ferguson, Luke Ferguson, Mandy Francis and Tonya Deviney along with numerous great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3 PM Sunday July 27, 2025 at West Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Beane, Lucas Ferguson and Shane Ferguson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Southern Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043. The family will be at the home of Shane Ferguson.
