On July 2, 2025 the Lord called his good and faithful servant Ellen O'Brien to her heavenly reward.

She was the loving daughter of Gladys Delery O'Brien and Walter J. O'Brien. Remaining to remember her life and rejoice in her assumption into heaven are her brother Walter Jr. and his wife Patricia, her sister Earlene and her husband Michael Knox, her nephew Stephen, her niece Christine and her grandnieces Cecilia and Amelia.

Ellen attended St. Joseph Grammar School, Archbishop Blenk High School and the University of New Orleans. By training and temperament she was a mathematics teacher and taught boys at Chalmette High and at West Jefferson High and girls at Archbishop Blenk High.

She retired shortly after Hurricane Katrina and moved to Arkansas at the urging of her good friend, and fellow teacher at West Jeff, Dinah Wynns. She became an active parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary parish in Magnolia.

Her body will be blessed at a Mass at St Joseph's Church & Shrine on Saturday July 19th at 1:00 PM with visitation starting at noon in the Church.

Burial will follow in McDonoghville Cemetery.

The family kindly invites you to share thoughts, fondest memories, and condolences online at www.MotheFunerals.com. Mothe Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
