Rogersville: Ellen Louise Trent, age 88, of Poor Valley Rd., Rogersville, TN went to home to be with Jesus on Monday morning, July 21, 2025 while residing with her daughter, Carolyn and son-in-law, Robert Purkey. Ellen was born in 1937 at Daniels in Howard County, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Emma Elizabeth Meldrom; son, Larry Trent; daughter, Lora Trent; husband, L.B. Trent with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn and son-in-law, Robert Purkey; daughter-in-law, Jan Trent; seven grandchildren, Patricia and husband, T-Bone Mullins, Samantha and husband, Jeff Bowers, Martha and husband, Tom Davis, Amanda and husband, Michael Seal, Natalie Seal, Marshall Seal, and Bella Davis; seven great-grandchildren, Dustin Albright, Matthew Davis, Damien Phillips, Megan Albright, Logan Williams, Jacob Bowers and Ellie Steinkuehler; nine great-great grandchildren; three siblings, Loretta Mabe, Daniel Meldrom, Jr., and Barbara Hatfield, and many nieces and nephews.

Ellen will always be remembered as a woman of faith, in our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ, who loved her family immensely.

Visitation hours will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home,1520 E. Main St., Rogersville, TN.

A celebration of life service will be conducted 7:00 P.M., Saturday, July 26, 2025 in the funeral chapel with Rev. Tim Seaton officiating. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the Bailey Cemetery, Poor Valley Rd., Rogersville. Those who wish to go in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:00 P.M.
