Elnora "Felice" Nelson, 61, of Amarillo, Texas, peacefully departed this life on July 5, 2025. A loving mother and dedicated friend, Felice will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family will celebrate Felice's life on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 2:00 pm, in the Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia. It is the family's hope that those whose lives she touched will join in celebrating her memory.
Felice was born on October 1, 1963, in Amarillo, Texas, to Van Nelson III and Eulis Marie (Scales) Nelson. A lifelong resident of Amarillo, she attended Austin Middle School and graduated from Tascosa High School. Following her education, Felice bravely enlisted in the United States Navy, where she served her country with honor and pride.
Felice was preceded in death by her son, Justin Phillips, father, Van Nelson III; her beloved grandparents, Hurles and Frankie Scales, Van Jr. and Leoma Nelson; and her brother-in-law, Alfredo Campuzano.
She is survived by her devoted sons, Vanalta "Van" Nelson and wife Courtney, Eli Manna and wife Denisha, and Michael Rickwartz. Her legacy also lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Jireh Manna, Avery Manna, and Alonzo Nelson, as well as her loving mother, Eulis Marie (Scales) Nelson, and stepfather, James Paul Jr. Felice leaves behind her siblings, Vanassa Wright and Florence Campuzano, her beloved dog Saint, brother-in-law Clarence Wright, and uncle Alton Scales, aunt, Mosesl "Mo" Coffey, cousins, Kelvin and Chanda Coffey, along with nieces and nephews, Abelardo "AJ" Romero, Cesar Campuzano, and Brianna and Brooklinn Wright. The family is comforted by the love of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will remember her kind spirit.
As we remember Elnora "Felice" Nelson, let us carry forward her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace, knowing she is forever in our hearts.
