Elpidio "Pilo" Cedillo Guadarrama, age 80, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 6, 2025 while surrounded by his loving family, here in Del Rio. He was born on November 6, 1944 in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Leonor and Domingo Cedillo; and brother, Ruben Cedillo Guadarrama.
Family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Sara M. Cedillo of Del Rio; children: Juan Elpidio Cedillo, Ariel Cedillo and wife Maria Cedillo Ortiz, Rosaisela Cedillo, Mayela C. Piña and husband Emiliano Piña, Sergio Cedillo and wife Zulema Cedillo, Lilian Cedillo and husband Ramon Rangel, and Luis Alberto Cedillo and Sandra Martinez, all of Del Rio; siblings: Juan Antonio Cedillo and wife Dora C. Robles of Del Rio, Maria Cedillo Menchaca and husband Jesus Menchaca of Del Rio, Alicia Cedillo of Cd. Acuña, Martha Cedillo of Cd. Acuña, Guadalupe Cedillo of Cd. Acuña, Domingo Cedillo of Cd Acuña, Hector Cedillo of Cd. Acuña, Alma C. Lopez and late husband Juan Lopez of Del Rio, and Armando Cedillo of Cd. Acuña; Elpidio is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, numerous nieces/nephews, and other close relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Faith. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
A Chapel Service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Deacon Emiliano Piña from St. Joseph's Church / Our Lady of Guadalupe. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Juan Elpidio Cedillo Jr., Ariel Cedillo Jr., Juan M. Escobar Jr., Alejandro Piña, Sergio Cedillo Jr., Ramon Rangel Jr., and Luis A. Cedillo Jr.
