Elsa Diane Bullard (Hedrick), known lovingly by her family and friends as Diane, passed away on July 19, 2025, in Hendersonville, North Carolina, at the age of 68, after a brief illness.

Born on December 10, 1956, in Hendersonville, Diane spent her life rooted in the community where she was born. She began her professional journey at Federal Paper Board and later pursued a career as a cosmetologist,

Diane found joy in the simple beauty of the world around her. She loved spending time outdoors, especially among sunflowers and butterflies-two of nature's wonders that brought her peace and happiness. In her younger years, she was an avid reader with a remarkable photographic memory. Her love for scripture remained constant throughout her life; Psalm 125, A Song of Ascents, held special meaning for her and reflected the strength of her faith.

She is survived by her son, Victor Lee Bullard and his wife Shannon; granddaughter Shelby Lee Bullard; and great-grandchildren Draven, Madalyn, and Travis. Diane also leaves behind her siblings: Kenny Hedrick (Judy), Kim Arrowood (David), Carolyn Edmundson (Randy), Scott Hedrick, and Kristy Paris (Gary). Her legacy continues through a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews who will remember her with affection.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, James K. Hedrick Sr. and Barbara Lively Hedrick; and her sister Kathrine "Kathy" T. Hedrick.

A Celebration of Life will be held later to honor Diane's memory.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Four Seasons Hospice and Hendersonville Health and Rehab for their compassion and care during Diane's final days.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
