Elvera A. (DePriest) Albright, passed away suddenly on July 4, 2025, at the age of 94.
Vera was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on April 21, 1931, to the late Nunziato and Fortunata (Garritano) Bosso. She was preceded in death by her first husband Charles R. DePriest, her second husband Richard K. Albright, her stepfather, Joseph Ferraro, her brother, Dominick Bosso, and her sisters, Frances Mollica and Susan Castagnola.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy DePriest (Tony), her son, Charles DePriest (Patti), stepsons Richard Albright (Debi) and Douglas Albright (Sheila). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, William DePriest (Liz), Brian DePriest (Maggie), Charles Soverns, Gina Cunningham (Rich), Jason Albright, Ivanna Jones (Terence), Alexandra Albright and Kiley Colombo (Andrew), as well as 8 great grandchildren, Nora and Annie DePriest, Tierney and Teagan DePriest, Richie Cunningham, Henry and Jack Jones and Parker Faye Colombo. She also leaves behind 2 dear sisters, Dolores Colitto (Sam), and Marcella Garver, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Vera lived most of her life in Glen Burnie, later in Linthicum, and most recently she resided at the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville. She was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School and retired from the Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1991.
Vera loved caring for others and was always quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed crafts, jigsaw and crossword puzzles and crocheting special blankets for her loved ones. Above all, her greatest joy was found in spending time with her family.
Heaven has gained a very special angel.
She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.
A private burial and funeral service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. To honor Vera's memory, the family kindly appreciates donations in her name, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The American Heart Association.
