Elvis Slaughter Obituary

Elvis Darrell Slaughter formally of Stratford, Oklahoma presently of Marion, Kansas was born November 22, 1933 to Arthur D. Slaughter and Sofia Jane (Brewster) Slaughter. He passed away October 17, 2025 in Marion, Kansas at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 25 days. He attended school in Asher, Ok., then went on to work at Davey Construction, Dresser Engineering and Eastern State college. He served our country in the United States Army. He married Francis Davis on June 5, 1954 in Clayton, New Mexico and from that marriage they had three children, Kenneth, Judy, and Kathy. They were faithful members of the Free Will Baptist Church in Stratford. He loved to fish, gardening, working in the yard, loved his family, grandkids and great grandkids, scuba diving traveling, and his baby goats and foxes. His son in law got him a goat bell to use when he needed something so Judy could hear him and boy did he use that!!!
Preceded by; his parents and wife Francis, granddaughter Jessica and one brother Rick Slaughter.
Survived by; One son Kenneth Slaughter & wife Cathy of Marshall, Ok.
Two daughters; Judy Hiebert & husband Tim of Marion, Kansas
Kathy Varney of Newton, Kansas. 9 grandkids, 16 great-grandkids
Visitation; Thursday October 23, 2025 in DeArman/Pickard Chapel from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Services; Chapel service 10:30 AM Friday October 24, 2025 with burial in McGee Cemetery Stratford, Oklahoma.
