AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Emilie Hall Leonard, 88, widow of the late Tommie W. Leonard, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Born on February 20, 1937, in Aiken, she spent her life dedicated to family, faith, and service in her community.
Emilie had a long and fulfilling career as a valued employee at Belk, where many knew her from her time working in the boys and men’s department. In addition to her retail work, she made a significant impact by serving for many years in the toddler nursery at First Baptist Church. She was a current member of Millbrook Baptist Church, where her faith and commitment were evident to all who knew her.
Emilie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Wayne Leonard, and her son, George Wayne Leonard. She is survived by her grandson, Zachery Thomas Leonard of Firestone, CO; her sister, Evelyn Hall Knight of Aiken; and her nieces, Terri Knight Wright (Glen) of Lexington, SC, Diane Knight Darr (Bobby) of Aiken, SC, and Lisa Knight Price (Tracy) of Ridge Spring, SC. She also leaves behind Paula Knight Bolton (Mark) and their children, whom she lovingly cared for: Luke, Timothy, John Mark, and Rebekah Bolton, all of Aiken, SC, along with numerous grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
Emilie had many hobbies and interests that brought joy to her life. She enjoyed painting and baking, delighting her family with beautiful birthday cakes and wedding cakes. Most of all, she loved her time spent with her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on March 1, 2025, at Aiken Memorial Gardens, 1523 Edgefield Hwy, Aiken, SC 29801, starting at 10:00 AM.
Emilie Hall Leonard will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her warm spirit, and her love for those around her. She touched many lives and leaves a legacy of love and laughter.
