Emily Alice Harrington

1920 – 2025

Jamesport, MO: Emily Alice Harrington was born September 27, 1920 to the late Laura Angeline Critten and James Carl Critten, the oldest of her two late brothers, Marvin Critten and Deward Critten. She was called home by the Lord on July 17, 2025 at the age of 104 years.

Emily Alice attended the Miller Community School followed by Jamesport High School, where she graduated with honors in 1939, one of the largest classes ever to graduate from Jamesport High with 43 class members. She is also the longest-lived of her class, with only one other younger member still living.

A passionate servant of the Lord, Emily was baptized in the Jamesport Church of Christ prior to 1939 and has faithfully attended all the years since.

She married the love of her life, Marvin Harrington, on August 10, 1940.

This union bore 3 beautiful children- the late James Edgar Harrington, Marva Ann Ross, and the late Troy Lynn Harrington.

Once her children were grown, she went to work at the cap factory in Gallatin, later working as bookkeeper at K&W in Jamesport then at Trenton MFA.

She survived a tragic auto accident in 1980, when she suffered two broken neck vertebrae and lost the lower part of her left leg. This did not slow her down and she remains a symbol of perseverance and resilience to us all.

Emily Alice lived in the home after Marvin passed in 2002, until she was 94, at which time she moved in with her daughter Marva Ann.

The pride of Emily Alice Harrington's life was her family.

Emily Alice has six grandchildren: George Carl Siever, Forrest Blaine Siever, Olivia Alice Henderson, Laura Angeline Novak, James Edgar Harrington Jr., and Carly Harrington.

She has more great grandchildren: Lindsey Rose Combs, Derrick Allen Love, Aaron James Harrington, Amelia Merlene Harrington, Madalyn Mae Henderson, Melissa Jane Henderson, Brooke Ann Rumsower, Michael Carl Siever.

Emily Alice loved babies, and the joy of her life was seeing each new generation, so her great-great-grandchildren were greatly loved: Aiden Blaine Siever, Alaina Grace Rumsower, Riley Rose Combs, Canegie Jane Combs, and Rafael Nimat Sigler.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 21, at the A,V. Spillman Event Center, Jamesport, MO. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery, Jamesport, MO. The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Monday at the A.V. Spillman Event Center, Jamesport, MO. Memorials may be made to the Jamesport Church of Christ in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424. Online condolences may be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com.
