Estelle Fleming Obituary

Mrs. Estelle Mayberry Fleming was born on October 29, 1929 in Franklin County, MS to the late Alex Mayberry, Sr. & Barbara Calcote Mayberry. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the St. Peter Rock Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charlie Anderson. She remained a lifelong member, and then transitioned over to the New Beginning Baptist Church and remained there until death.
She was a graduate of Brumfield High School. She later enrolled in Alcorn State University, receiving a B.S and Masters Degree in education. Being an educator in the Natchez-Adams School System for approximately 39 years, she impacted the lives of many students.
She was proceeded in death by a loving husband-Willie Lee Fleming, siblings-Alex Mayberry, Sr., Earnestine Davis, Ned Mayberry, Ida Bell Harbor, and Hicks Mayberry,several nieces, and nephews.
Deaconess Fleming impacted her community through various other affiliations: Foster Parenting, Retired Education Personnel of MS, and Past Grand Matron of Victory Chapter #4 O.E.S., Secretary and Worthy Matron, Adah Grand Chapter, O.E.S, and #1 Daughters of Sphinx.
Her passion was loving children and cooking. To say she never was a patient in a delivery room, she had more children than anyone in the state. If you entered her doors as a child, you entered a home-loaded with love and compassion for others---not just a mere shelter. Whether you stayed or went, if you were hungry for any length of time, it was by choice. She never went to cooking school. Yet, she filled many empty stomach with her tasty meals.
All of her caring and love will be missed by her many, many children, namely-Taylor Fleming, Buffy (David) Haywood, Jermaine Williams, Rena Jenkins, Nikki Jenkins, Shawanda Townsend, Shanda Townsend, Nova Carver, Shamia Carver, Shaun Mason, Tim Williams, Regeana Peeler, and numerous others, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a God daughter-Hattie Jean Dotson, Rosena Profice and other nieces, nephews, cousins, her bonus son-Granddaddy, Eastern Star sisters and brothers, and her New Beginnings Church Family.
God has spoken, so let the church say, 'Amen.' A soldier has lived beyond the promised years, fought a good fight, and now ready for her reward.
