Ethel Mae Kelly, age 91, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, in Pensacola, Florida. Born on October 10, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kelly lived a life full of compassion, adventure, and deep love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mabel Irene Rush and William Fisher; her devoted husband, Joseph Thomas Kelly; and her cherished son, Joseph Francis Kelly.
Kelly is survived by her loving children: Cheryl Dippold; Thomas (Daisy) Kelly; Darlene Kelly; and Colleen (Darryl) Lapointe. She was a proud and adored grandmother to Elizabeth Kelly; Joseph Kelly II; Justin (Briana) Kelly; Robert Dippold; Amelia (Jeremy) Uffman; Ann (Ryan) Kelly-Brashear; Stephanie (Mike) King; and Bryan (Danielle) Williams.
She also leaves behind a legacy of great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Tristan (Jonathan) Boyden; Johnathan King; Kaitlynn (Dylan) Gravett; Brayden, Cameron, and Juliette Uffman; Jameson and Max King-and most recently, great-great-granddaughter Julia Boyden.
Kelly dedicated her life to helping others, serving as a Registered Nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital until her retirement in 2012. Her nurturing heart touched countless lives throughout her nursing career. Outside of her profession, she had a deep passion for traveling the world, gathering memories and stories wherever she went, and always returning to what mattered most-her family.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, where her faith remained a steady foundation throughout her life.
To those who knew and loved her, Kelly was a shining example of grace, strength, and kindness. She will be remembered for her quiet resilience, her sharp wit, and her unwavering love for those around her.
As she would say-dance in the rain.
