Eugene "Gene" Leroy Armstrong, 82, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, surrounded by love and care.

He is reunited in peace with his loving wife of over 60 years, Dona Armstrong, who passed before him. He is survived by his three children, Cheryl Bussard, Crista Armstrong and Anthony Armstrong; his cherished grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Eugene was born on September 15, 1942 in Franklin County, PA. Eugene was the embodiment of dedication and hard work. For 46 years, he was a loyal and very proud employee of Mack Trucks, Inc. He was also a member of the Mack Truck Local Union #171. Even after retiring in 2007, his strong work ethic never wavered. He continued to give his time and energy by working at a retirement community and later at AC&T, always finding purpose in staying active and helping others.

Once Eugene fully embraced retirement, he discovered happiness in life's simple joys - taking care of his yard and nurturing his garden. From flowers to rows of tomato plants, each thing he grew showed the dedication he invested. He also enjoyed collecting, going out to eat, and traveling.

Eugene took immense pride in his home - the heart of his world - where he raised his children and helped shape the lives of his grandchildren. It wasn't just a house; it was a place filled with laughter, love, and countless memories, all built by his hands and hard work.

He was a strong and steady presence, someone you could depend on no matter what the circumstance. We will forever miss his high fives and warm smile.

A private interment will be held by the family.
