Eugene "Gene" Hach, 87, of Blue River, WI, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on 6/15/2025. Gene was born on April 6, 1938, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, to Lucille (Thibault) and Henry Hach. He grew up on the family dairy farm in Avoca before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army. After his military service, Gene returned to farming, where he built a life rooted in hard work, community, and family. In 1964, Gene married the love of his life, Nancy Kite. Together, they raised four children and continued the tradition of farming on their dairy farm in Blue River. Over the years, Gene and Nancy welcomed eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren into their lives, who became his greatest pride and joy.
Gene had a lifelong passion for farming, but his interests extended far beyond the fields. He enjoyed tractor pulling, snowmobiling, UTVing, watching his grandchildren's activities, and traveling to Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He was the head of the Riverdale Tractor Pullers and competed throughout Wisconsin and neighboring states alongside Nancy and their two sons. In the off-season, Gene and his family enjoyed snowmobile drag racing, maintaining local trails, and exploring the countryside on long rides. Later in life, Gene found joy in restoring tractors and proudly displaying them in his yard along Highway 60, drawing admiration from the community. He also cherished the many card games shared with friends and neighbors over the years.
Gene is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Nancy, and their children:
Lonnie (Stacy) Hach of Blue River,
Larry (Mona) Hach of Blue River,
Lisa (Marty) Pingel of Oregon;
He is further survived by his grandchildren: Lindsay (Jeff) Lamont, Justin (JaNae) Hach, Morgan (Ben) Neuroth, Tyler Hach, Emily (Will Bailey) Hach, MaKayla Hoffman, Ben (Becca Harper) Pingel, and Maggie Pingel;
great-grandchildren: Tate Lamont, Jarrett Hach, Jace Hach, and Heath Neuroth;
siblings: Henrietta (Larry) Mcgee), Wilma Anderson, Donald Hach, and Catherine Hach.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lucille Hach; his daughter Linda Hach; great-grandson Weston Neuroth; sisters Geraldine (Jim) Dax, Yvonne (Pete) Peterson; brother-in-law William Anderson; and parents-in-laws Buford and Florence Kite.
The family thanks the staff of Agrace Hospice for their compassion and care.
