Alvin Eugene Harrison, age 89, of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Born on April 27, 1936, in Russell County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Alvin Duval Harrison and Helen Stallard Harrison.
Eugene retired after 31 years of service from the Carbo Power Plant. He also operated Eugene Harrison Excavating.
His passion for the land was evident in his love for farming, a pursuit that allowed him to connect with nature. His interest in genealogy was more than a hobby; it was a way to honor his ancestors and preserve the history of his lineage for future generations.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Nancy Jane Harrison; son, James Richard Harrison; brother, Raymond Harrison; and sister, Faye Bays.
He is survived by his daughter, Pam Dye; grandchildren, Kristy Hess and husband Josh, James Harrison and wife Crystal, Jeremy Harrison, and Heather Harrison; special great-granddaughter, Natalee Jane Hess; sister-in-law, Ann Weddle; and brother-in-law, Bill Warner.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Randy Williams and Rev. Danny Belcher officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. before the start of the service.
