Eugene Orsini Obituary

Eugene Joseph Orsini, 97, of Newington, died Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the Rocky Hill Veterans Home. He was born in Hartford to Orlando Orsini and Anna (Forte) Orsini. Eugene is survived by his sister Norma Orsini of Newington, CT; stepdaughter Jeannie Phillips of Orleans, VT; nieces Dawn Schreter of Georgia and Ann Marie Norman of Vernon, CT; nephew Bill Albrecht of Vernon, CT and brother-in-law Bill Albrecht III in Naples, FL. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War as a chef. He married Lorraine Westover and while they divorced, they remained great friends, and he had a close relationship with her daughter Jeannie. Eugene loved people and was the owner of Brookside Restaurant in Hartford. He loved horse racing and traveled to watch the races and owned a horse Wee Hope. There will be Calling Hours Tuesday, September 10th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St. Rocky Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Wednesday, September 11th at Christ the King Parish Corpus Christi Church 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield, followed by burial service at the Middletown Veterans Cemetery 317 Bow Ln, Middletown.
