Eugene Rath Obituary

Eugene J. Rath Sr., 81, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Rath was born Feb. 9, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant to the late Ernest J. and Agnes C. Marhefka Rath. Eugene was a graduate of Hurst High School, class of 1961. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked at ITE in the Maintenance Department and retired from Lowe's in Greensburg. Eugene was a very creative person who loved painting and woodworking. Eugene is survived by his loving family, his wife, Marjorie Earle Rath; his children, Michael Rath (Andrea) and Jaime Golobish (Larry); his grandchildren, Maigyn McBeth (Andy), Emily Rath, Kaitlyn Rath, Colton Golobish, Maria Rath, and Lauren Golobish; and by his great-grandson, Landon McBeth. He is also survived by his siblings, Charles Rath (Donna), Robert Rath (Patricia), Doris Love, Rosemary Carradine (Ron), and George Rath (Debbi); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his son, Eugene 'Joe' Rath Jr., in 2019. Family and friends will be received on Friday, from 11 a.m. until the hour of his funeral service at Noon at GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME INC., Mt. Pleasant.
