Eula "Marie" Baker, 85, of Mitchell, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at her residence. Born October 20, 1939, in Danville, IL, she was the daughter of William Omer Craig and Alice Claudean (Key) Craig. She first married John "Jack" Baker and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2000. She then married Terry Deckard on March 30, 2001, and he survives.
Marie worked at ATR Coil Company, E&M Tool Company, was a secretary for the Lawrence County Highway Department, and worked for the Lawrence County Court House. Marie was also a member of the Dive Christian Church. Marie loved camping, fishing, traveling and was a wonderful cook.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Marie is her husband, Terry Deckard; three children, Chris (Stacey) Baker, Karen Baker, and Eric (Dee Dee) Baker; 12 grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica, Danielle, Aleisha, Nate, Blake, Jake, Kody, Luke, Heaven, Taylar and Henry; one great grandchild, Isabella; two sisters, Janet Hall and Donna (Ron) Scheffel; one brother, Gary (Susan) Craig; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, John.
Funeral services for Eula "Marie" Baker will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford, with Pastor Gary Burks and Pastor Chris Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Dive Cemetery in Bedford. Visitation for Marie will be on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 10:00am to 1:00pm, also at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel in Bedford.
Donations in memory of Marie may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
