Eva Bailey Obituary

Eva Glenda Lowrance Bailey of Dermott, Arkansas passed away at her home, Sunday May 4, 2025 at the age of 88. Glenda was born February 11, 1937 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late W.O Lowrance and Laverne Hornbeck Lowrance of Dewitt. Glenda graduated from Dewitt High school and attended Arkansas A&M in Monticello where she met her husband, Paul A. Bailey. She was an active member of Bellaire Baptist church. She was a homemaker and a stay at home mom to her children during their school years. Later in life she chose to begin a career by working at shelter insurance, Dermott City nursing home and Farm Bureau. Glenda is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Bigischer (husband Al) of Hot Springs Village, AR ; son, John Paul Bailey (wife Connie) of Diamondvile, WY ; Grandchildren: Candice Bailey, Krista Carothers, Randall Jones and David Jones; Great Grandchildren: Brycen Lowery, Alyssa Austin, John David Carothers, Jayden Jones and Jaxon Jones; sister in law; Ella Bates of Lafayette, LA ; nieces, nephews, and friends. The family wishes to thank all of those who helped take care of her the past few years. Thanks to her niece, Aleta Young, for always being there to love and care for her, no matter the time of day or night. A very special thanks to her new daughter, Jacqueline Spann of Lake Village for her caretaking skills, love and devotion. Our mom could not have survived without these two special ladies.
Visitation is scheduled at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Chapel in McGehee, AR for Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 8,2025 at 11:00am at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Chapel with Bro. Kenny Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow at the Dermott Cemetery in Dermott, AR. Pallbearers are Jimmy Duncan, Melvin Hicks, Mitchell Wilson, Dakota Young, Mike Livingston and Ricky Golden. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bellaire Baptist Church, 2596 HWY 65 N Dermott, AR 71638 or Dermott Cemetery Association operating fund, PO Box 324, Dermott, AR 71638.
