Everett Thomas Obituary

Everett Eugene "Bud" Thomas, age 77, of St. Louis passed away Friday, June 27, 2025, with family by his side. He was born on December 30, 1947, in Alma, the son of Everett and Mary (Best) Thomas. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a helicopter mechanic. He married Roberta Rae Downing on March 10, 1973, a blessed union of 48 years until her passing in 2021.
Bud worked for several years with Alma Freezer, Wylis Asphalt, and owned and operated Thomas Auto Shop from 1979 until his retirement in 2004.
He enjoyed doing yardwork, woodworking, and maintained a hearty appetite, especially for homemade soup.
He is survived by his children Barry (Amy) Thomas, Tanya (Gordon) Richards, Christina (Johnathon) Fales, Lacy (Andy) Diaz; a special nephew Trevor Bott; grandchildren Kelson Thomas, Cheyanne Smith (Josh Baeza), Shelby Richards (Timmy Alspaugh), Hallie Fales (Hunter Fellows), Logan Thomas, Brendan Thomas, Jordon Richards (Kira Sanger), Saleen (Mason) Butcher, Blaze Fales (Colttion Vine), Marquez Diaz, Jules Fales, Jack Fales, Damien Diaz, Dylan Diaz, Eriq Richards, Lilah Diaz, Micah Diaz, Sebastian Diaz and Donovan Diaz; great-grandchildren Harlyn Fellows, Xander Baeza.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta; his parents; a brother Jerald "Jerry" Thomas; and his father and mother-in-law Cliff and Arlene Downing.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 1 pm at Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel, Breckenridge. Interment will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Vietnam Veterans, American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
