Oakland – Faith W. Pray, 83, of Oakland passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
She was born in Waterville, Maine on Aprill 8, 1942 to Mary C. Webber and Oscar R. Webber. She attended local schools graduating from Milton Laforest Williams High School, Class of 1960.
Faith was employed as a medical receptionist right out of school until she retired, working for doctors in Oakland and then finally for Dr. Eugene Peters of Waterville. She attended the Church of the Nazarene in both Oakland and Fairfield and Riverside Assembly Church in Fairfield, serving the Lord faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, treasurer and offering transportation to those who were in need. Faith also enjoyed volunteering at the hospital for several years, as well as quilting and shopping at all quilt shops in the state.
Faith was predeceased by her parents Mary C Webber and Oscar R Webber, brothers Paul Webber and Wayne Webber, her husband of 33 years Lawrence Pray Sr.; and son Lawrence Pray Jr.
She is survived by her Daughter-in-Law Barbara Pray, Daughter Becky Wooten, Son-in-Law Brian Wooten, Grandson Jake Pray and Wife Kristen Pray. She is also survived by Granddaughters Elizabeth and Gabrielle Wooten, Grandson Wyatt Wooten, Brother John Webber and nephew Paul Webber and niece Jessica Gregoire.
A service will be held on August 2nd at 2:00 pm at Riverside Assembly, 33 Water Street, Fairfield.
The family would like to thank the staff at Maine General Hospice, especially the team of nurses, personal care assistants, social worker and chaplain that were assigned to her care. A huge thank you to Dot Bickford for all of her help over the past year.
