Faye Ella Scantlin Perdue age 95, of LaFayette, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. She was born in Franklin Georgia to the late Lewis Thomas Scantlin and Ora Strickland Scantlin. Throughout her life, Faye resided in Warm Springs, Georgia and most recently LaFayette, Georgia since 1972. She was a member of Cassandra Baptist Church and involved in the WMU women's group at church. In her early life, she worked at the Goodys plant in Manchester, Georgia and retired from Buster Brown in LaFayette, Georgia in 1973. Faye was an active citizen in her community wherever she lived. While in Warm Springs, she worked with the Warm Springs Foundation that helped care for President Franklin D. Roosevelt, she was a care giver to infants being treated by the iron lung, as well as helped organize a mental health group in North Georgia. In her free time Faye loved flower gardening and was a very talented crocheter. She also enjoyed investigating her family genealogy, solving puzzles and watching cooking shows. Her most cherished time was spent with her beloved dog, Mitzi that was more than just her dog, she was her best friend.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert James Perdue; daughter, Vi Ella Lawhorn; grandson, Casey Lawhorn any many siblings of which she was the last.
She is survived by her sons, Herbert "Herbie" (Teresa) Perdue, Lewis Thomas Perdue, Clint Perdue; nephew, Stanley Rogers; niece, Marian Hay, as well as many first cousins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Online register book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Homes LaFayette, Georgia.
