Felipa G. Diosdado, a cherished matriarch, and beacon of faith, was called to her heavenly home on July 6, 2025, at the age of 100. Born on May 7, 1925, in Guanajuato, Mexico, Felipa lived a century filled with love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and the Lord. She passed away peacefully from old age in Chicago, Illinois, surrounded by the love of her extensive family.
Felipa's life was a testament to the power of faith and the strength of the human spirit. She was a daughter to her late parents, Pedro Diosdado and Eusebia Solano, a beloved wife to her late husband, Apolonio Diosdado, and a guiding light to her children-Aurora Martinez (Domingo), the late Ernest Diosdado, Evelia Fernandez, Martha Serna (late Robert Sr.), Leticia Luna (Ernest), Felipe Diosdado (Irma), Joseph Diosdado, George Diosdado, and Hugo Diosdado. Her legacy continued through her adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory.
For over 25 years, Felipa served with diligence and joy at Marshal Fields, where her kindness touched the lives of many. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were matched only by her generosity and love for her family and friends.
Felipa was a devout Catholic and her life was a living sermon of love and service. Her interests in cooking and shopping were avenues through which she expressed her love, often gathering family and friends around the table for a feast or finding the perfect gift to brighten someone's day. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, laughter, and spiritual nourishment.
Those who knew Felipa would describe her as loving, generous, and faith-filled. Her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration, and her spirit was as vibrant as the gardens she tended with such care. She lived by the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." This philosophy guided her every action, turning the ordinary into extraordinary through the power of love.
Felipa's life journey was one of courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her faith. She was a pillar in her community, always ready to lend a hand or offer a prayer. Her life was a beautiful mosaic of moments that, when pieced together, formed a masterpiece of service and grace.
As we honor the life of Felipa G. Diosdado, we are reminded of the impact one person can make by living a life anchored in love and faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her spirit will continue to guide us. Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the century of blessings she bestowed upon us. May we all aspire to live as Felipa did-with hearts full of love and hands ready to serve.
