Florence Farmwald Obituary

Florence (Yutzy) Farmwald, age 96 of Plain City, Ohio, passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord Sunday June 29, 2025 at the Gables of Marysville, Ohio. Born February 21, 1929 in Plain City, Ohio to the late Eli N. and Lizzie Ann (Miller) Yutzy. She was married later in life to Abe Farmwald who preceded her in death.
Preceded in death by her parents: Eli N. and Lizzie Ann (Miller) Yutzy; Brothers: Ammon, Melvin, Marvin, infant brother Enos, Wallace, Wayne and Mark. Sisters: Viola (Yutzy) Yoder, brother-in-law: Henry Lapp, sisters-in-law: Wilma Yutzy, Fannie Yutzy and Mary Yutzy, step-daughter Anne Yutzy.
Survived by brothers: Freeman (Kathy) Yutzy; Ervin (Dorothy) Yutzy; Elton (Betty) Yutzy; Lee (Elizabeth) Yutzy. Sisters: Orpha (Yutzy) Lapp and Mary (David) Hostetler.
Brother-in-law Perry Yoder, sisters-in-law: Kathleen Yutzy, Sarah Yutzy and Elisabeth Yutzy. Step-daughters: Edna Davis, Mary Jane Beachy and Sarah Yutzy, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Florence was a faithful member of Shiloh Mennonite Church, serving the Lord in many ways with her interests and talents. She loved teaching both Sunday School and in parochial school. Musical talents included both directing choirs and teaching music at church.
She loved traveling abroad, continuing her education and making the best homemade bread in the county (according to her brothers). She retired from her years of working at the Ohio Lung Association, which included registering the tuberculosis cases in Union County.
While we miss her presence dearly, we rejoice that she is at rest with the Lord, free of pain, made whole in the image of Christ, and we look forward to being reunited with her in eternity.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025 from 5 PM to 7 PM at Shiloh Mennonite Church 7521 Woods W Ave, London, OH 43140. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2nd, 2025 at 10 AM, also at the church. Interment to follow at Shiloh Mennonite Cemetery.
