Florence Elizabeth Gaston
July 12, 1939 – June 30, 2025
Florence Elizabeth Gaston, 85, of New Waverly, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025.
Born in Ireland on July 12, 1939, to the late Robert and Sarah Gaston, Florence grew up on her family's farm, a place she remembered with great fondness and spoke of often. Her stories of rural life in Ireland, rich with faith, hard work, and family, were cherished by all who heard them.
As a young woman, Florence moved to the United States, where she built a life rooted in faith and love. She was a devoted follower of Christ, and one of her greatest joys was sharing her faith with the people around her. Florence was known for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and quiet strength.
She loved spending time outdoors, especially with her beloved dogs through the years. Her porch was her sanctuary - a place where she would sit for hours, watching the birds gather at the many feeders she kept in her yard. Nature brought her peace, and she found joy in life's simple, beautiful moments.
Florence is survived by her siblings: John, Louie, Ivor, Leonard, and Norma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sarah, and her sister, Sally.
Florence will be missed not only by her family, but also by her neighbors of many years and the close friends who were like family to her. Her warmth, wisdom, and quiet joy touched all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Pine Valley Cemetery, 500 Big Woods Rd, New Waverly, TX 77358.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University Heights Baptist Church Missions Fund, 2400 Sycamore Ave., Huntsville, TX 77340 - a cause close to Florence's heart.
Her life was a reflection of her faith and love - and her legacy will live on in the hearts of many. Memorial condolences may be made to the family at www.shmfh.com
