FORREST ARNOLD, 75, of Spencer, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg.
He was born February 18, 1950 in Charleston, a son of the late Charles and Freda VanBibber Arnold. He was retired from the operating engineers as an equipment operator with Flint and Branson Construction and State Construction, former owner and operator of A & A Asphalt, and formerly worked for Harry Boggs Oil and Gas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the Roane County Volunteer Fire Department and belonged to the Ohio Valley Mud Bog Association where he raced in the Houston Astrodome and for the TNT television station. He enjoyed walking, feeding his birds, his dog Duke, his cat Charlie, and sitting in the sun tanning listening to 70's and 80's music and drinking his favorite Bud Light.
Forrest is survived by his wife, Patsy Arnold; daughter, Connie Harris of Spencer; step-daughter, Lora Morehead of Walton; son, Matt Arnold of Ripley; sisters, Marsha Greathouse and Katrina Kelley, both of Spencer; brother, Lee Arnold of Spencer; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles Arnold; and a granddaughter.
Per his wishes, Forrest will have no visitation or service and burial will be at the Eventide Cemetery with military honors at a later date at the Eventide Cemetery in Spencer. There will be a meal following the graveside service at the Spencer/Roane Volunteer Fire Department.
The family would like to thank the staff at Roane General Hospital, Camden Clark Medical Center, and the family, especially Katrina, Connie, and Lora. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer is assisting the family.
