Frances Boss Obituary

Frances Ann Boss, 84, of Salisbury, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 3, 1941, in Clifton Hill, Missouri, the daughter of Martin and Mildred (Vonderahe) Wienhaus. On June 29, 1963, she married Carl Edward Boss. Together, they shared 61 years of marriage filled with love, faith, and devotion. Their union was a beautiful testament to lifelong partnership, and Frances remained a steadfast source of strength and grace for her family.
A devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury, Frances lived a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. She was an active member of the church's Altar Sodality and regularly assisted with funeral dinners, offering comfort and support to families in their time of need.
For many years, Frances operated a loving in-home daycare, where she cared for and nurtured countless children in the community. Her gentle heart, patient nature, and warm home made her a beloved figure to many families, and her legacy lives on in the lives she helped raise. She also worked for the Biltwell Factory in Salisbury for a period of time.
Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family-especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, baking cookies, gardening, and fishing, always taking delight in life's simple, meaningful pleasures. Her unconditional love and quiet presence left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is survived by her children: Carla Fitzgerald (Jim) of Salisbury, MO; Terry Boss (Kelcie) of Liberty, MO; and Kent Boss (Cherie) of Richmond, MO. Frances was the proud grandmother of Jamie Neary (Ryan) of Canton, OH, Deanna Kahmke (Nicholas) Manteca, CA, Elizabeth Boss Liberty, MO, Joshua Boss Liberty, MO, Zachary Boss (Jenna) of Smithville, MO, Dakota Boss (Angela) of Springfield, MO, and Tyler Boss of Tulsa, OK. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Milo Boss, Casper Boss, Thomas Neary and Bridget Ann Neary; Frances is also survived by a sister-in-law Leona Wienhaus of Salisbury and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward Boss, who passed away in January 2025; her parents, Martin and Mildred Wienhaus; and brother, Henry George Wienhaus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, May 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, with a rosary beginning at 9:00 am. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Joseph Cemetery.
