ALEXANDRIA, IN – Frances "Fran" (Wright) New, 90, entered peace and rest from her son's home following an extended illness on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
She was born on June 29, 1935, in Anderson to Gilbert and Gertrude (Wheeler) Tobin Wright and lived in Alexandria for most of her lifetime. Fran was a graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1953. She devoted her lifetime to the care and nurturing of her family. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Anderson and was an avid reader.

1 Half-sister-Mary Ellen (Thomas) Bennett
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, her husband-Clyde New in 2023, Son-Monty New in 2004, her step-father-Orvil Tobin, Brothers-Larry Neal and Verle Wright, Half-Sister-Bonnie Tobin and sister Sue Schroth.
Private family services will take place in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria, IN 46001 followed by private interment in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bethany Baptist Church, 322 East School Street, Anderson, IN 46012.
