Frances Ann Wilde Pechal, a loving wife, devoted mother and cherished grandmother, passed away on Saturday July 12, 2025, at the age of 81.
Frances was born April 4, 1944, in Westphalia, Texas to Adeline Wilberg Wilde and Herman Wilde. She attended Seaton School and graduated from Rogers High School in 1962.
Frances became employed at Scott & White Hospital in 1963 where she continued working until her retirement, 45 years later, on February 29, 2008. After retirement she remained at Scott & White as a volunteer for several years.
Frances married Arnold John Pechal on August 27, 1966. They were married for 58 years and raised two children.
Frances was a devout catholic with a special love for Mary. Growing up, she attended the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia. In 1966, she became a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple, Texas. She was a long-time member of the Altar Society organization at St. Mary's. She spent many hours in adoration in the chapel and prayed the rosary daily. She also found joy in her hobbies of sewing, baking and gardening.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Arnold Pechal; sister Carolyn Wilde of Temple, Texas; son, Michael Pechal and wife Emily Pechal, of Cedar Park, Texas; daughter Cynthia Knight of Temple, Texas; grandchildren, Mila Knight, Evan Pechal and Makena Pechal.
Visitation and rosary will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple, on Thursday July 17, 2025. The visitation will be from 6pm – 7pm with the rosary at 7pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday, July 18th at 1:00 p.m. with Father Ranjan Cletus officiating. After the funeral mass, burial services will be at Bellwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Temple.
