Frances Lee Reeder, 88, from Pocomoke City, Maryland passed away from a short illness Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in her home surrounded by family. Born in Pocomoke City on January 26, 1937 she was the daughter of Adlia and Bertie Mariner. Frances was married to the late Earl C. Reeder. After his death she lived with her daughter and son-in-law Alan and Gail Pennewell.
Frances was a poultry grower for over 40 years with her husband by her side. She enjoyed relaxing in her recliner reading her Birds and Bloom magazine. She loved gardening and flowers. Her grandson Bo used to say "flowers, flowers, flowers, mom-mom". She loved her koi pond, don't know what her secret was to growing big koi but she absolutely had one. She liked to do word searches and puzzles on her tablet. She always wanted for nothing and was spoiled by her daughter and son-in-law. She loved reminiscing and showing off her photo albums of the flowers that her and Paul Joyner used to grown back on the farm in Stockton. She would talk on the phone to her best friend Dorothy Dukes who was born on the same day as her. They used to enjoy going to the Methodist Church in Stockton together. When she was still driving, her favorite places to go was Subway and the Red Roof for lunch while out shopping.
She is survived by a son, Earl Howard Reeder and a daughter Gail Pennewell (Alan) and a son-in-law William Davis. Four grandchildren Earl Joseph Reeder (Heather), Christopher Reeder (Tyler), Sierra Davis, and Jenna Pennewell. Three great-grandchildren Emily Reeder, William Reeder, and Landon Reeder.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Earl and daughter Carol Davis. Also, her love of her life, ferrets Aubrey and Rascal.
A special thanks to the CNA's and the nurses at Atlantic General Hospital, who took care of her during her stay. As well as, Hospice for caring for her while she was home until her passing.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
