Frances Ann (Clare) Schnarre, 73, went to be with the Lord, peacefully at home in Centralia, MO surrounded by her loving family on July 25, 2025.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the First Christian Church in Centralia with burial to follow in the Centralia City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 Monday, July 28, 2025, at Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home in Centralia.

She was born on January 23, 1952, in Troy, Missouri to John and Margaret Clare.

Fran graduated from Troy Buchanan High School in 1970 and began her freshman year at Culver Stockton College in Cannon, Missouri. Fran married Brian Schnarre in 1971 in Troy, MO and moved to their farm just west of Centralia, Missouri. She transferred to the University of Missouri – Columbia, graduating in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. They had 2 boys, Jake and Fritz and then adopted 2 little girls, Stephanie and Nikki. Fran was a part of the ALOT class from 1986-1987, and also served as State President of the Missouri Young Farm Wives. While she was involved in the farm for many years, Fran felt the call to ministry, first attending the Missouri School of Religion, then earning a Masters of Theology from Eden Theological Seminary, St. Louis in 2000 and ordained as Pastor in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 2001. She dedicated her life to Christian service, initially as associate pastor at the First Christian Church in Centralia, then District Representative of Growing Hope Globally (formally Foods Resource Bank), and Director of Missouri School of Religion. In 2006 Fran became pastor of Granville Christian Church in Granville, MO, retiring from ministry in 2019. In retirement she continued her service, as Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster children and, along with Brian, leading a Sunday School class for young adults.

Fran loved her family, farm, and church kids with all her heart. Her second love is history and genealogy. She loved researching things from the family ties of a friend to the family history in the local graveyard. Fran was the person people turned to for their joys (weddings, babies) and sads (funerals).

Fran is survived by her husband, Brian Schnarre, her 4 children, Jake (Melissa) Schnarre, Fritz (Barbi) Schnarre, Stephanie (James) Poettker, and Nikki (Jeff) Baker. Her grandchildren Sophia Schnarre, Catherine Schnarre, Aleks Schnarre, Johanna Baker, Megan Gering-Harpole (Ed Harpole), Morgan (Carlos) Lopez, and Ethan Wilson. She is also survived by her brothers Frank (Paulette) Clare, Bob (Liz) Clare, brother-in-law Keith (Sandy) Schnarre, and sister-in-law Linda Schnarre along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Margaret Clare, Brian's parents, Ora and Mildred Schnarre, and brother-in-law Neal Schnarre.

Whatever name you called her, Mom, Grandma, Mawmaw Fran, Aunt Fran, just Fran or even Franny Banani; Just know that she loves all of you and she would want everyone to go out and spread love and compassion like she always did. She's watching, supporting, and cheering us on from heaven.

Memorial donations are suggested to the First Christian Church in Centralia or the Granville Christian Church in Paris and may be sent in care of Fenton-Kendrick Funeral Home, 104 S. Collier St. Centralia, MO 65240.
