Frances Elaine Smith, age 83, was born April 10, 1942, in Shelby County, TN, the daughter of Buster Cook and Margie Mae Tyler Qualls Cook. She passed away on July 8, 2025, at her home in Myrtle, MO. She was united in marriage to Jerry Dean Smith on June 12, 1970, in Salem, AR.
She is survived by: her husband, Jerry Smith, of the home in Myrtle; 3 children, daughter Debbie (Smith) Montgomery and Bobby from Warner Robins, GA, 2 sons, Rick Smith and Karen (Suzy) of West Plains, MO, Gary Smith and JoBeth of Thayer, MO; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Louis Glover of Texas, David Cook of Tennessee, Calvin Cook of New York; brothers-in-law, JA Smith and Clara of Myrtle, and Ronnie Huddle of Thayer; also numerous cousins and precious nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Margie Mae Cook.
Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with Bro. Mike Stone officiating and burial following in the Myrtle Cemetery. Visitation will be 12pm-2pm just prior to the service.
