Mr. Frank Bausch Jr., age 79 of Carthage departed the walks of this life at 8:06 a.m. Sunday morning June 22, 2025 with his wife and children at his bedside. His passing was at the Smith County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage where he had only resided for two days.
Family and friends will assemble Monday morning June 23rd at the Garden of Everlasting Life at the Smith County Memorial Gardens for graveside services and interment beginning at 11 a.m.
The Wichita native was born Francis Joseph Bausch Jr. in Sedgwick County, Kansas on October 16, 1945 and was the only child of the late Francis Joseph "Pete" Bausch Sr. and the late Maurine Bausch.
In Las Vegas, Nevada on October 16, 1964 he was united in marriage to Wichita, Kansas native, the former Sonda Kay Goertz.
Mr. Bausch was of the Catholic faith having been a communicant of the Christ the King Catholic Church in Wichita.
He was a 1963 graduate of the Ponca Military Academy High School in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Mr. Bausch's career consisted of being employed in the airplane industry, first with the Boeing Corporation, and he retired from the Avco Corporation in the early 90's where he was employed as a fabricator.
The Bausch family has resided in Tennessee since leaving Kansas in 1982 and moved to Carthage in 2020 from the Temperance Hall Community.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Sondra, his wife of over sixty years, are their two children, a daughter, Angie Bausch Conner, Smith County Rescue Squad Chief, Richard Bausch all of Carthage; grandson, Derrek Thackxton and a granddaughter Keri Whitaker and husband Craig all of Carthage; step-granddaughters, Millie Lancaster of the Defeated Creek Community, Tiffany Lancaster Candler and husband Trevor of the Enigma Community; great-granddaughters, Ella Watson and Evie Whitaker; step-great-granddaughter, Scarlett Candler.
The Bausch family requests memorials to the Smith County Rescue Squad.
