CAÑAS
Frank Cañas Jr., age 80, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2025. He was born on June 17, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to his beloved parents, Francisco and Emma Cañas.
Frank was a proud 1964 graduate of Miller High School. He dedicated over 30 years of his life working as an operator for Shell Oil Refinery before retiring. A man of strong faith and service, Frank was deeply involved in his church communities, generously giving his time to Blessed Juan Diego Catholic Church in Pasadena, Texas, and Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church in Benavides, Texas.
Frank found great joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending time at his home and ranch, working with his hands through woodcraft, hunting, and maintaining the land he loved. He also cherished his time at his sons' Michael, JAMAC Ranch. A skilled woodworker, Frank often created and donated handmade wood crafts to various organizations, always giving from the heart. He also volunteered as a church custodian, living a life marked by service, humility, and dedication.
Frank's legacy of hard work, generosity, and faith will be forever cherished by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice " Bea" G. Cañas; his parents, Francisco and Emma Cañas.
He is survived by his children William (Rita) Cañas of Pearland, Texas; Michael (Danell) Cañas of Deer Park, Texas; Christine Cañas of Deer Park, Texas; Melinda (Craig) Lee of La Porte, Texas; four sisters, Mary Lou Mancha; Josephine "Pep" Navarro, Emma Elva Perez, and Esther Hernandez; two brothers, Jesse Cañas, and Joe Cañas; 17 grandchildren, James, Michael, Jose, Emma, Eric, Adrian, William, Alex, Alec, Justin, Devin, Andrew, Cory, Rachel, Carlie, Dana and Victoria. 13 Great grandchildren, Kailynn, Jayden, Jayden, Jace, Scarlett, Madison, Olivia, Aria and Camila, Adylin Grace Etheredge, Kacey Ray French, Levi Cañas.

My dear Frankie, when we last talked on the phone, you were trying to decide whether to move closer to your family in Houston or stay where you were in your home. God took you home instead so you could be with your love, Bea, my best friend in elementary school. No more worries, no more stress. God keep you safe in His Arms. My Mass this weekend is dedicated to you and Bea. Much love to you both.
