Mr. Frank Junior Farrar, age 92 of Pittsboro, NC, entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at UNC Hospital in Hillsborough, NC.
The Obituary
Frank Junior Farrar was born on March 23, 1933, in Chatham County, North Carolina. He was the fourth of ten children born to the late Booker and Connie Phillips Farrar. He departed this life peacefully on July 12, 2025, at UNC Hospital, Hillsborough Campus in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
As a child, Frank attended Horton School but left early to work alongside his brothers at his father's sawmill. He would eventually work for several decades at Chatham Mills, retiring in the late 1990s.
On April 6, 1957, he married Mary Alice Patterson, with whom he was married for nearly 63 years before her passing. To this union, two daughters were born.
Frank had a love for family and cooking. He was famous for his sweet potato pies. He joined Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church at an early age and faithfully served on the kitchen committee for many years.
Frank leaves to mourn his loss and to cherish his love and memories, two daughters: Alice Jean (Michael) Lloyd and Connie Ann (William Charles) Austin. Six grandchildren: Andre (Shoshi), Montrell (Lynn), Jacqueline (Dynell), Antonio, Jason (Marisa), Darius (Shaquannah). Nine great-grandchildren: Devontre', Dreshon, Braylon, Jessiah, Jyshir, Layla, Jermaine, Xavier, and Cali. Four siblings: Julius Farrar, Faye Leach, Charlie (Lydia) Farrar, Jimmy (Euphalia) Farrar. Several in-laws: Ella Horton, John Seaton (Esther) Patterson, Carlene Farrar, and Katie Farrar, Adopted-son: Roy (Ronel) Bryant, and godchildren: Margaret Clark, Crystal (Kennard) Burris, Felicia (Javas) Clark-Giles, Jonathan Lee, Dwight, and Anthony Lynn. A special and dedicated niece, Delphine Goines. He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
