In Loving Memory of Frank Alden McCully, July 31, 2025 With heavy hearts and deep gratitude, we remember and celebrate the life of Frank Alden McCully, 88, a beloved father, decorated Air Force veteran, Hall of Fame athlete, coach, public servant, and pillar of his community. Frank passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, in Carrollton, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Carrollton to Perry and Daisy McCully, Frank walked through life with a steady moral compass, an open heart and a lifelong passion for uplifting others. As a high school standout in basketball and football, he earned a place in the Athletic Hall of Fame-a reflection of his extraordinary talent, leadership, and sportsmanship. His love for sports endured long after graduation, as he gave generously of his time and talent to officiating softball, baseball, football, and basketball-and also mentoring the next generation as a devoted basketball coach. Coach Frank wasn't just a strategist or a leader on the court-he was a teacher of perseverance, respect, and teamwork. Countless young athletes not only learned the game under his guidance, but also learned how to carry themselves with integrity and confidence beyond the gym. Frank proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, embodying duty and honor. Following his service, he dedicated over 30 years to AEP. As a long-serving council member, Frank helped shape Carrollton with thoughtful leadership and sincere commitment. His voice and values left a lasting imprint, felt in both policy and people. Frank was a devoted husband for 64 years to the love of his life, Ruth (George). He was a cherished father to Darla (Jeff) Tipton and Brenda (Randy) Snyder, proud grandfather to Kali, Alexis (Chandler), and Devin, and doting great-grandfather to Otis Randall. He is also survived by his sisters Erma Henry and Kathy (Paul) Carr, a large and loving extended family, and dear family friend Barb Coffy, who held a special place in his heart. He is now reunited in peace with his brother, Paul McCully, and his sisters, Evelyn Flohr and Arlene Pisklo, who passed before him. He also joins his closest childhood friend, Jack Coffy, whose bond with Frank was nothing short of brotherhood. A celebration of Frank's remarkable life will be held on August 2, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carrollton Warrior Athletic Booster Club (205 Scio Road, Carrollton, OH 44615) in honor of his enduring legacy. Though he has passed from this world, Frank's spirit lives on-in every game played, every kind word spoken, and every life touched by his generous heart.
