Obituary published on Legacy.com by James & Lipford Funeral Home - Graceville on Sep. 16, 2025.
Frank Edward Sloan, 79, of Graceville, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama. He was born July 22, 1946, in Tampa, Florida to the late Luther Simon Sloan and Imogene Mullis Sloan. Frank married the love of his life, Glenda Brannon Sloan, on August 11,1967. Together they raised a family while stationed in several locations across the US while he served in the United States Navy for 20 years as a fire control technician. After his retirement from the Navy, he worked for and retired from Enterprise Electronic Corporation as the Vice President of Marking and Sales. He loved the Atlanta Braves and kept a schedule taped beside his recliner of their games and what channel they would come on. He would not miss a game if he could help it. He also was an avid FSU fan. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time researching his family tree and keeping a running record of it. He also loved classical music. More than anything he loved his family and would do anything he could to help them and loved to spend time with them. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Ann Monfort; and two sisters, Barbara Shipes and Ann Henderson; and his beloved fur baby, Precious. Frank is survived by his wife, Glenda Sloan; two sons, Greg Sloan and Kevin Sloan; six grandchildren, Ashley, Phillip, Courtney, Christopher, Jeffery, and Eddie; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Dolly Cochran; as well as many other extended family members and friends. A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. (CDT), Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the chapel of James and Lipford Funeral Home, 5390 Cotton Street, Graceville, Florida. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until time for the service.
