Frankie Ansley McAlpin was born on February 5, 1925, and raised in Keithville, Louisiana to the late Corean Wells Ansley and Nathan James Ansley. She accepted Christ at an early age and remained a faithful member of Baptist Temple Baptist Church throughout her life since July 1946.

She married Lorenza "Budd" McAlpin, and they shared 2 daughters: Doris McAlpin Lee and Donnita McAlpin Sanders. Frankie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She devoted her life to caring for her family and those around her. Whether she was gardening, praying, or cooking, she left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She worked and retired from Lucent Technologies after many years. She then went on to work art and retire from the Caddo Parish School Board, where she touched the lives of many through her immense kindness. Ms. Frankie then started serving her community as the candy lady for another ten years. Here, she gained tremendous popularity with many neighborhood residents through her kindness and generosity.

On February 1, 2025, the mayor of Shreveport, LA signed a proclamation awarding Frankie McAlpin her very own day that recognizes her as a centenarian; one who has lived 100 years. Anyone who knew her knew that she was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan! She also loved collecting dolls, and in her younger years she enjoyed walking the track at Booker Washington High School.

She transitioned peacefully on May 8, 2025, at 12:10am, surrounded by love. She was preceded in death by her parents Corean Wells Ansley and Nathan James Ansley, her husband Lorenza McAlpin, her brothers Foster Ansley, Ardis Ansley, Dan "LM" Ansley, Emmett Ansley, OB Ansley, and sister Thelma Baker Johnson, a special niece, Mary Baker-Buie, and nephew, Mike Baker.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her children: Doris (John) Lee, Donnita (Lester) Sanders; her grandchildren: Damion (Sharon) Washington, Letitia "Chan" Washington, Corey Sanders, Austin Sanders, Zachary Sanders, Lassonya Wells Davis; her great-grandchildren: A'niyah Washington, Daylan Myers, Talisha (Terrel) Gorham, James Mills, Amyah Myles, Zakoriyah Sanders, Christian Davis, Camron Davis, Casey Davis; her great-great-grandchild: Truly Gorham; a very special niece: Thelma Ann Baker; beloved great-nieces: Kidada Buie and Gwendolyn Leake-Issac; other host of nieces; her "favorite" nephew (as she would say): Ike Baker; and hosts of nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Though her physical presence will be missed, her spirit, wisdom, and love will live on in all of us. We thank God for the beautiful life she lived and the joy she brought to our lives.
