Fred Buysse, age 66, of Cottonwood, Minnesota, died on Monday, July 28, 2025, at his residence in Cottonwood. Private Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
Fred Phillip Buysse was born on November 5, 1958, in Winthrop, Minnesota. He was the son of Henry and Viola (Dewanz) Buysse. Raised near Tyler, he completed his education and graduated with the class of 1979 from RTR. Following his graduation, Fred proudly served his country in the National Guard for two decades. He then attended Minnesota West Technical College to study Truck Driving.
In 1990, Fred was united in marriage to Ms. Trudy Jemming in Milroy and to this union, two children were born, Jacob and Samantha. After their marriage ended in divorce, Fred settled in Cottonwood, where he continued to reside for the rest of his life.
Throughout his career, Fred embraced a variety of roles, including those of a truck driver, employee at Schwan’s, and Bladholm Construction. However, he dedicated the majority of his working life as a ready-mix concrete laborer for Bornhoft Concrete. He stuck with the company through the change of hands and helped turn the company into Buffalo Ridge Concrete. Fred took pride in his work, and it was evident by the number of faithful customers he had.
Fred was known as a very generous and happy-go-lucky guy. You would always see a big smile across his face, and he was always willing to give a lending hand, regardless of the circumstances. Fred was a jack of all trades, especially when it came to tinkering on cars. This hobby was one he passed down to his son, Jacob. Currently, Fred was in the process of restoring a 1976 Chevy Scottsdale, a project Jacob hopes to continue in his father's honor. When Fred was not busy tinkering with vehicles, he also enjoyed 4-wheeling and deer hunting.
Fred Phillip Buysse died on Monday, July 28, 2025, at his home in Cottonwood, Minnesota. He reached the age of 66 years, 8 months, and 23 days. Blessed be his memory.
