Fred Sellers was born in Texas on November 15, 1937, to Joe and Rachel Sellers. He passed away peacefully at home in Kerman on July 5, 2025, at the age of 87.

His parents, who were farm laborers, had migrated from Oklahoma to California during the Dust Bowl era in search of a better life.

The Sellers family settled in Caruthers, where Fred graduated from high school. After proudly serving in the United States Air Force, Fred went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in History from Fresno State. He then dedicated his life to education, teaching at Kerman Union High School and later becoming an influential administrator. Fred's impact on the Kerman community, and beyond, has left a lasting legacy that continues to inspire many.

Though Fred had a career in education, he always remained true to his "Country Boy" roots, spending many years farming and nurturing his love for the land.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Rachel, and his sister Carol Pauline Sellers Jonas. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Nanci Dulcich Sellers, his sister-in-law Judi Kralevich, and a close-knit extended family, affectionately known as "the kids": Lyn and Jeff Monsevais, Nick and Vivian Kralevich, Zeno Jonas, as well as his great-nephew Matthew Monsevais, great-niece Lucy Kralevich and great-nephew Mason Monsevais, his wife Chelsea and their children.

A memorial service will be held at Jay Chapel on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

Fred will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, service, and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
