Freddie Michael "Mike" Foster,70, went home to the Lord on July 2, 2025, at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette Louisiana. He was born in Mobile, AL on December 6, 1954, to the late Norman Foster Sr. and Mary Dunn Foster.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Ethel Dunn; sister-in-law, Connie Foster; brother-in-law, Darrell Bates; nephews, Jeff Bates, Yahshua Kickliter, and Shawn Foster.

He is survived by his brothers, Norman "Bubba" Foster, Larry Foster, and Chris Kenly (Taffy); sisters, Frances George (Willie), Esther Manning (Tommy), JoAnn Bates, Shirley Blanchard, Beverly Owen (Charles) and Tammy Usery; daughter, Charity Foster; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mike will also be missed by his friend Christian Lewis whom he met during his nursing home church ministry stay. Christian was always there for Mike and would bring him the food of his choice once a week. He always prayed and encouraged Mike. He attended every hospital visit which included wound care, leg amputation, and many surgeries. Christian filled in the gap when family could not be there for Mike. He was like a brother and a very good friend.

Mike suffered a critical injury while training horses in 2009. He was a resident of Camelot Rehabilitation at Magnolia Park for over fifteen years. He chose to remain in Louisiana where his father was born and raised. Mike worked in construction, but his love was horses where he rode as a jockey and was a horse trainer. He had a good heart and was always willing to help you. He loved the Lord and professed him as his Lord and Savior. His favorite bible verse was Psalm 23. He knew the lord kept him here for a reason. He was a witness and could encourage others even in his condition. He loved God, country, family, friends and Alabama football. He proudly wore his Bama shirts, sweatshirts, and hats right in the heart of LSU Tigers country.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Camelot Rehabilitation at Magnolia Park for their love, care and concern all these years.

A visitation will be held on Friday July 11, 2025, at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. followed by a chapel service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
