Frederick "Fred" A. Kerscher, 84, of Whitelaw passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Aurora Medical Center in Manitowoc County.
Fred was born April 8, 1941 in Manitowoc, son the late Raymond and Leona (Luebke) Kerscher. He graduated with the class of 1959 of Mishicot High School. He served his country during Vietnam in the United States Army. On August 3, 1985, he married Audrey Wachal at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Francis Creek. She preceded him in death on June 5, 2022. He was employed at Northern Labs for over 30 years until his retirement. After retirement, he drove the tour bus for Audrey's group. Fred was a life member of AMVETS Post 99.
Fred is survived by his step-son: Bill (Joan) Wachal, rural Valders; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Allen (Helen) Kerscher, Rhinelander, Tom (Jean) Kerscher, Francis Creek, and David Kerscher, Melen, WI; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Terry (Mary) Schenian, Green Bay, LuAnn Gruber, Manitowoc; special caregiver: Tammy Cavanaugh, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Fred was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Leona Kerscher; wife: Audrey Wachal-Kerscher; brother and sister-in-law: Ernie (Betty) Kerscher; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Russell (Bernita) Schenian, and Norbert Gruber; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Victor and Emma Schenian.
A funeral service to celebrate Fred's life on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville with Rev. Dennis Ryan will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday, June 9, 2025 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Military honors will follow at church. Fred will be laid to rest at Knollwood Mausoleum.
