Fredric Claude "Fred" Jansen, 86 of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. He entered this life on May 3, 1939, in Indianapolis, Indiana, born to the union of the late Fredric and Lenore (Bennett) Jansen.
Fred spent his formative years in Kokomo, Indiana, where he developed a foundation of integrity and hard work. In his senior year of high school, he moved with his family to Jacksonville, Florida, where he graduated from Bishop Kenny High School in 1957. He was offered a track scholarship to the University of Florida and there he became a Sigma Nu fraternity brother. He earned his bachelor's degree in Industrial engineering, a field in which he would excel for many years.
In 1970, Fred's career brought him to Springdale, Arkansas, where he worked for HK Porter. His expertise and leadership skills were soon recognized, and in 1973 he moved to Neosho, Missouri, to begin his employment with Talbot Wire. His commitment and ingenuity propelled him through the ranks, and he eventually took a transfer to Tawakoni, Texas. Fred retired in 1996 as Vice President of Manufacturing, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and excellence.
Upon retirement, Fred settled in Anderson, Missouri, where he built a home that became a hub of love and laughter for his family. Fred's life was enriched by his beloved wife, Vickie Jansen, and their blended family. He is survived by his children, Sharon Netherton and her husband, Mike, of Springdale, Arkansas, and Mike Jansen and his wife, Dena, also of Springdale. His stepchildren, Rosie Frencken and her husband, Jeff, of Anderson, Missouri, Randy Richardson and his wife, Jeannie, of Seneca, Missouri, and Jon Patterson and his wife, Holly, of Anderson. His legacy continues through his ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Fred also leaves behind a brother, Greg Jansen and his wife, Patty, of Canton, Georgia; as well as a host of other family and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorene Jansen; and his siblings, Angela Carter, Phillip Jansen, and Jeffery Jansen.
Beyond his family and career, Fred was a talented artist who found solace and expression in his artwork. His grandchildren, in particular, were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His gentle presence and creative spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
